This job will report to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Key Responsibilities
Coolant & Fluid Management
- Perform scheduled coolant exchanges on CNC machines and associated equipment
- Monitor coolant concentration, pH levels, tramp oil, and contamination
- Adjust coolant mixtures to meet OEM and process specifications
- Skim tramp oil and remove debris from coolant systems
Filter Maintenance & Fluid Filtration
- Inspect, clean, and replace coolant filters (bag filters, cartridge filters, magnetic separators, and paper bed filters)
- Monitor filter condition, pressure differentials, and flow rates to identify clogging or inefficiencies
- Ensure proper installation and sealing of filters to prevent bypass or contamination
- Help to track filter usage and replacement intervals in CMMS
Cooling System & Fan Maintenance
- Inspect and clean machine electrical cabinet fans and filters to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating
- Inspect and clean chiller unit fans, coils, and air filters to maintain efficient heat exchange
- Remove dust, chips, and debris buildup from cooling components
- Verify proper fan operation, airflow, and abnormal noise/vibration conditions
- Identify and report failing fans, blocked airflow, or temperature-related alarms
- Support basic chiller maintenance tasks (filter cleaning, airflow checks, visual inspection)
Preventive Maintenance Support
- Execute fluid, filtration, and cooling-related PM tasks per CMMS schedules
- Clean coolant tanks, sumps, filtration systems, and cooling components
- Inspect pumps, hoses, filtration units, and cooling fans for wear or failure
- Document all work performed in the CMMS
System Cleaning & Restoration
- Assist with full system cleanouts (chip removal, sludge removal, tank flushing)
- Support machine deep cleaning during shutdowns or planned maintenance
- Assist with improving coolant life and machine reliability through best practices and recycling.
Inventory & Chemical Handling
- Work with maintenance part specialist to maintain proper inventory levels of coolant, filters, fan filters, and cleaning chemicals
- Safely handle, mix, and store industrial fluids per SDS requirements
- Coordinate with parts/maintenance teams for replenishment
Environmental & Safety Compliance
- Dispose of used coolant, filters, and waste materials according to EPA/local regulations
