Find your calling at Mercy! Sets priorities according to the surgery schedule so as equipment and instruments are sterile and available when needed. Assists the manager in maintaining the QA data for the sterilization process of instrumentation taking the responsibility in maintaining the sterilization logs, temperature and humidity logs and preventativemaintenance on the sterilization equipment. Reporting deficiencies to the manager immediately. Assisting thetheirpreoperative care of the surgical patient by assisting the nursing staff, anesthesia staff, surgical team as needed. Assists the manager in maintaining the integrity of the instruments, reporting damaged or missing instruments in a timely fashion. Assists the manager in thebudgetary process indocumenting future needs orreplacement of equipment and / or instruments and sets. Has the ability to complete the days work load efficiently andaccurately minimizing downtime and wasted supplies. Position Details: We're a Little Different

Overview:
  • Surgical Instrumentation & Sterile Field Support: Ensures accurate assembly, sterilization, and integrity of surgical instruments while supporting the surgical team with proper sterile technique and efficient case turnover.

  • Infection Control & Environmental Safety: Maintains strict infectioncontrol standards, performs sterilization testing, documents equipment performance, and supports a safe surgical environment per state and facility regulations.

  • Operational Efficiency & Cost-Effective Care: Prioritizes workload efficiently, supports accurate case preparation, minimizes waste, protects instrument longevity, and assists with inventory and maintenance tracking.

  • Professional Development: Actively participates in ongoing education, training, and skill development to enhance professional performance.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Preferred Experience: Minimum 3 years work experience in a Healthcare Environment and/or a Surgical Tech Student

  • Certification: BLS current

  • Other Skills and Knowledge: Ability to communicate both written and verbal effectively and legibly.
