Description and Requirements
***This role will be Hybrid in Morrisville, NC. This candidate will work three days onsite and two days remotely***

***This candidate must be fluent in Mandarin and English, and US Citizenship is a hard requirement***

Job Summary:

Lenovo's CTO (Chief Technology Office) is seeking a Sr. Researcher, Sustainable Computing to support the delivery of cutting edge and energy efficient product offerings. This role will lead innovative projects to address the environmental impact of computing technologies, from hardware manufacturing to data center operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research on energy-efficient management of heterogeneous computing clusters.
  • Build accurate models for real-time power monitoring and predictive analytics to forecast cluster-level energy consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Build a dynamic frequency modulation scheme and task scheduling mechanism for core components such as GPU and CPU suitable for intelligent computing tasks, to improve system energy efficiency.
  • Work closely with cross-functional World-Wide teams, transfer research outcomes into commercial products and solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with sustainable computing or high-performance computing.
  • AI and ML knowledge with experience in predictive analytics.
  • Proven research experience with 6+ years of a professional background in one or more of the following areas:
    • AI Job energy efficiency and optimization
    • Power/energy consumption modeling and profiling
    • AI Workload characterization and performance analysis
    • Resource management and task scheduling for heterogeneous clusters
  • Direct experience with NVIDIA GPU software stacks.
  • Fluent in both spoken English and Mandarin.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex, open-ended challenges.
