Mechanical Engineer 2 Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer 2 position. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide. Job Summary: Either leads or participates with a team to develop designs for products. Requires independent interpretation of requirements. Utilizes design skills to perform tasks independently while consulting with more experienced members for challenging situations. As a member of the group with valuable experience it is expected that they will occasionally be called on by other members and departments for assistance in their field of expertise. Expected to perform tasks with minimal supervision and may provide assistance to lower level engineers. Primary Responsibilities:
Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required. Essential Skills: Subject Matter Understanding. Analytical. Records Management. Computer Applications. 3D Design and Analysis. Research. Project Management. Critical Thinking. Problem Solving. Decision Making. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, see, sit, and use hands. Some travel domestically and internationally as required. Job Qualifications: REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering discipline) and five years related post degree experience, or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or related discipline) and eight years related post degree experience. PREFERRED:PE (Registered Professional Engineer) Master's degree in a related technical field.Knowledge of CAD. Experience with ASME Section VIII and applicable military standards. Background in fluid flow, metallurgy, or stress analysis using finite element methods and a background with processes. Compensation:The pay range for this position is $82,454 to $103,057 a year. May increase depending on the level of experience of the candidate.
