Position Title: Data Analyst

Work Location: North Chicago, IL 60064

Assignment Duration: 2 years (possible extension- performance based)

Position Summary: This is a technical role within the e-discovery team. The team processes data, takes inventory of onsite data, and communicates with lawyers and paralegals.

Background & Context: This is a growth opportunity. As the e-discovery space at our organization has grown, the team needs someone with more knowledge, experience, and familiarity with forensic tools. The candidate is not expected to be fully proficient within the first month or two.

Key Responsibilities:

* This is a technical role within the e-discovery team.

* The team processes data, takes inventory of onsite data, and communicates with lawyers and paralegals.

* The role involves data processing, including ingesting hard drive and email data sources into processing tools, indexing, culling, filtering, and exporting data to vendors.

* The person will communicate with different teams through email and provide status updates to paralegals.

* The role supports various projects and requires someone willing to learn, contribute, and improve.

* This is a growth opportunity. As the e-discovery space at our organization has grown, the team needs someone with more knowledge, experience, and familiarity with forensic tools. The candidate is not expected to be fully proficient within the first month or two.

Qualification & Experience:

* Prior experience in a corporate environment is preferred, as it helps candidates understand a professional workplace.

* Experience in a technical environment, such as IT support, e-discovery, or forensics, is preferred. * Candidates should be able to learn new software and ask questions when needed.

* E-discovery experience is preferred but not mandatory.

* Familiarity with FTK Imager, Nuix, Nuix CCC, or other forensic processing and data collection tools is preferred.

* One to two years of hands-on experience with indexing, filtering, or data collection is preferred. One year is acceptable.

* Recent graduates and junior candidates may be considered if they have a strong resume. Relevant coursework in e-discovery or forensics would be helpful.

* Desktop support candidates may be considered if they have managed large projects. Candidates whose experience is limited to ticket processing may not be suitable.

* Candidates with project experience, a corporate background, completed projects, teamwork, and collaboration skills may also be considered.

* Experience with forensic collections and forensic tools, particularly FTK Imager or Nuix, would stand out.

* Basic Microsoft Office and Excel knowledge is required. Experience with tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell is helpful.

* Relativity experience is also relevant and may be considered.

* Legal or litigation knowledge is not a major requirement and can be learned on the job.

* A bachelor's degree is preferred. Candidates with a master's degree may be considered, although some may be overqualified.

* Candidates with a master's in computer science and extensive software development experience may not be a good fit if their career goals do not align with the position. Candidates who have changed career paths and have relevant e-discovery experience may still be considered.

* Local candidates are preferred. Candidates willing to relocate may be considered if they have a strong resume and a clear relocation plan.
