Job Summary

The Benefits Administrator, Health and Wellbeing, supports the day-to-day administration of employee health, welfare, and wellness programs. This role partners with benefits vendors, insurance carriers, employees, and HR teams to ensure accurate benefit administration, timely issue resolution, and effective delivery of benefit programs. The position requires strong organization, attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Support the administration of medical, dental, vision, life, paid family and medical leave, voluntary benefits, FSA, HSA, EAP, and wellness programs.
  • Collaborate with benefits vendors and insurance carriers to support daily health and welfare operations.
  • Review and respond to routine employee benefits inquiries and HR cases in Workday or another HRIS.
  • Triage complex or non-standard issues and escalate them to the appropriate team members.
  • Support annual benefits enrollment, including testing, quality checks, and proofreading.
  • Assist with government forms, filings, and compliance activities, including Form 5500, PCORI, COBRA, and ACA reporting.
  • Review, update, and maintain employee benefits communications and internal benefit resources.
  • Serve as a point of contact for HR colleagues regarding benefit-related questions.
  • Process expense reports, calculate benefit fees and premiums, and prepare invoice payments.
  • Compile census information and benefits reports for internal and external partners.
  • Assist with wellness and total rewards programs and activities, including health screenings, flu clinics, blood drives, and educational events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for death claims and guide beneficiaries through the claims process in accordance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate with team members on retirement-related aspects of death claims and provide support for retirement operations as needed.
  • Investigate root causes of benefits and data issues and help improve related processes and data flows.
  • Complete additional benefits and HR operations duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • 2-5 years of experience in employee benefits administration or a similar benefits-focused HR role.
  • Direct experience supporting employee benefits programs is strongly preferred over general HR experience.
  • Experience supporting health and welfare or employee wellness programs is preferred.
  • Basic experience with Workday or another HRIS; Workday experience is preferred but technical expertise is not required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable working with employees and stakeholders at varying organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and competing priorities.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential employee and benefits information appropriately.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
