Job Description

Ammunition Logistics Storage Team with a variety of tasks in support of ammunition logistics and operations. Performs duties including ammunition warehousing; verifying materials against receiving documents; reporting discrepancies and damages; handling explosives and ammunition; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; and storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods. Reorganizes, rearranges, and inventories explosives and ammunition components. Operates hand and power trucks. Transports ammunition to various locations including off installation, as directed. Maintains accurate and legible records on various DOD and YPG forms. Operates a forklift moving materials in restricted spaces such as trailers and storage magazines. Accurately and completely applies knowledge of hazard classification, compatibility groups, and placarding requirements. Performs all standard procedures in the sections. Provides guidance and direction to a crew to execute assigned tasks and responsible for completion of task, following applicable safety and security procedures. Performs non-standard and special projects with little or no supervision. Anticipates logistical challenges, develops solutions, and proposes/implements those solutions. Provides training and mentorship to junior personnel in accordance with SOPs, regulations, and policies. Conducts pre-task safety briefing. Requires professional interface with government customers, vendors, truckers, and others. Additionally, performs duties as the Ammunition Shipper (Blocker and Bracer). Receives and verifies documents required for CONUS or OCONUS shipments of ammunition. Ensures munitions and components are packed and palletized per specific drawings and regulations. Generates military shipping labels, weight and measurements documents, and UN labels required per CFR49. Reviews shipping requests to determine shipment configurations, quantity of conveyances needed, and strategy to proceed within the guidelines of hazard classes and compatibility groups. Coordinates with Ammunition Management and Transportation to schedules conveyances. Determines the proper configurations to load commercial transports to ensure proper weight distributions for scaled vehicles. Responsible for blocking and bracing to ensure the ammunition cannot shift during transport. Finalizes Bills of Laden, seals the conveyance, and escorts off the installation. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications

Pay Rate:$37.20

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must possess a valid Arizona Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with hazardous material endorsement with no restrictions, or obtain one within 60 days of hire.
* Must have current DU Ammunition Handler training.
* Must maintain Ammo 45 Certification.
* Must maintain a current AA&E certification.
* Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as Ammunition Storage Technician III OR 5 years of directly relevant ammunition experience and at least 1 year as an Ammunition Storage Technician III.
* Must be able to acquire a valid Ammo 62 Certification and maintain the 2 year recertification requirement.

Job Skills Requirements:

* Must have a working knowledge of YTC Range procedures.
* Must be competent in forklift and other ammunition handling equipment operation.
* Must be competent in accurately and completely applying knowledge of hazard classification, compatibility groups, condition codes, and placarding requirements.
* Must be proficient in ammunition storage, handling, and transportation requirements.
* Must be proficient in forklift and equipment operating skills.
* Must have in depth knowledge of AA&E Physical Security requirements.
* Must be able to provide a positive interface to shipping customers and propose solutions to their shipping challenges.
* Must be proficient in shipping documents and all applicable laws, regulations, SOPs, and policies.
* Must be able to use Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Must be able to use Material Analysis Report Storage (MARS) and Yuma GRID.
* Must be able to safely operate power and pneumatic tools.
* Must have a demonstrated ability to provide guidance and direction to a crew, enforcing SOPs, safety, and security requirements.

Physical Requirements:

* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
* Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
* Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Ammunition Logistics.
* Must be capable of lifting 110 lbs. chest high unassisted repeatedly during the day.
* Must be able to lift and transport 75 lbs. unassisted over uneven ground for 50 feet.
* Must be capable of frequent squatting, crouching, and stooping
* Must be tolerant of frequent weapons systems firings.
* Must not have color vision deficiency.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

* Military munitions training.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
* Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
