The Opportunity: This position supports the Energy Management and Commodities Trading team of Enel North America, Inc. an Enel Group company. This position will provide legal advice and support on various legal issues such as: PPA drafting and negotiations, ISDA drafting and negotiations, gas trading agreements, "Know Your Customer" processes, general commercial contract negotiations, regulatory investigation and claim management and all other legal issues presented to this business line. This position reports to and has frequent interaction with both the Vice President of Legal and Corporate Affairs for the United States and Canada and the Global Legal Head of Power Purchase Agreements Legal Affairs. This position will frequently interact with both senior executives and other members of the trading team, senior executives at Enel North America Inc and Enel S.p.A. level. What You'll Do at Enel North America: In line with the strategy and mission of Legal Function and the guidelines, policies and procedures set at Enel Group level, responsibilities include, among others: * Draft and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements; * Draft and negotiate REC agreements; * Draft and negotiate ISDA agreements; * Structure, draft and negotiate other complex and time-sensitive commercial transactions. * Facilitate, revise and counsel on the Company's "know your customer" process * Incorporate, manage and update corporate entities, ensuring the compliance with applicable laws, case law and relevant bylaws. * Support, advise and lead the Company through federal, state and local permitting processes. * Handle any litigation related to the business line, including regulatory claims and investigations. * Advise management and employees on a wide range of legal issues, such as corporate law, compliance law, civil law with a particular focus on the matter related to energy trading business, litigations, insurance, development and finance issues, interpreting and explaining legal rules, principles and requirements; * Develop and implement, in line with the strategic scope of Legal Department, preventive legal strategies to minimize litigation, third party disputes and other potential liability. * Willingness to travel nationally and internationally on occasion Who You Are & What You've Accomplished: * Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school required. * At least 5 years of legal experience practicing in in transactions, with an emphasis on energy trading. * General knowledge and understanding of FERC and RTO rules and requirements. * Demonstrated ability to provide strategic and commercial legal advice and recommendations. * Strong communication skills both written and oral; ability to present clear and practical legal positions. * Excellent business judgment. * Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities. * Ability to influence others and to gain support for his/her ideas. * Excellent interpersonal skills; builds strong working relationships across the organization. * Strong analytical and problem solving skills combined with attention to details and thoroughness. * Excellent organizational skills, effectively managing priorities while meeting timelines. What Enel North America Offers You: The pay range for this position is $198,000.00 to $297,000.00 annually. The base pay actually offered will be based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, work experience, education, and internal equity.
