The Renewable Energy Initiative at CU Boulder invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate! The project will involve active collaborations with scientists from around the world which entails not only transfer of knowledge during online meetings, but also physical exchanges of samples.

Who We Are

RASEI (pronounced RAY-see) is a joint institute between the CU Boulder and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) addressing meaningful, multifaceted problems in energy that require a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional approach. Our mission is to expedite solutions that transform energy by advancing renewable energy science, engineering, and analysis through research, education, and industry partnerships.


What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Synthesis and characterization of next-generation cathode materials for Li-ion batteries.
  • Fabrication of coin cells to test their electrochemical performances.
  • Pursue a range of characterization techniques to understand the mechanism of charge storage.
  • Expected to mentor graduate and undergraduate students and help write grants.
  • Expected that the work in this position will eventually merit publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals.

The annual salary for this full-time position is $63,480.

What We Require

  • Hold a PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related fields OR be reasonably on track to obtain a PhD prior to the start date.
  • Experience in materials synthesis and characterization and/or electrochemistry.
