About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Systems Engineer - Finance (Temporary) to join our team on a temporary basis, with the potential to transition into a regular position based on business needs and performance. The Business Systems Engineer - Finance offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional who wants to build expertise in analytics, AI, and enterprise business systems while working on impactful initiatives across the Finance organization. The successful candidate will help develop reporting solutions, support business systems, and contribute to AI-driven automation initiatives. This position works closely with Finance and IT teams to improve business processes through technology and data insights

What you'll do:

  • Partner directly with each Finance function and its personnel to understand business processes, pain points, operational priorities, and strategic objectives.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend opportunities for increased efficiency through AI and automation.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Act as a self-learner who can quickly understand new business processes, ask thoughtful questions, and work closely with end users to design practical solutions.
  • Assist in the development and testing of AI agents, copilots, and workflow automation solutions.
  • Ensure solutions align with company policies and enterprise requirements for responsible AI, governance, privacy, cybersecurity, records management, compliance, financial controls, and data protection.
  • Drive adoption of approved AI tools, including Copilot and other enterprise AI platforms, through demonstrations, workshops, office hours, coaching, and hands-on user support.
  • Provide ongoing support to users incorporating AI into daily work; gather feedback, address adoption barriers, and improve solutions after launch.
  • Stay current on emerging AI technologies, Finance transformation trends, enterprise platforms, and industry best practices; evaluate their relevance to Finance priorities.
  • Regularly communicate project updates, findings, recommendations, risks, and results to business partners and leadership stakeholders.

In addition to those essential job functions identified above, individuals in this position are also responsible for performing other duties or tasks that may be assigned. The Company retains the discretion to add to or change the essential job functions of this position at any time.

You have these skills:

  • AI & Technology Knowledge - Knowledge of Generative AI, enterprise AI platforms, low-code/no-code solutions, workflow automation, agents, enterprise search, and digital transformation.
  • Hands-on Solution Development - Demonstrated ability to build prototypes, proofs of concept, and working solutions with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI services, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar tools.
  • Problem Solving - Gathers and analyzes information skillfully, identifies root causes, evaluates alternatives, and translates complex business challenges into practical solutions.
  • Business Value Orientation - Focuses on measurable outcomes rather than experimentation for its own sake; evaluates impact, feasibility, ROI, and scalability.
  • Collaboration - Builds solutions with users, not only for them; works effectively across teams.
  • Communication & Facilitation - Communicates technical concepts clearly to nontechnical audiences; writes and presents effectively; facilitates discovery, training, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Stakeholder Management - Builds trust, manages expectations, and aligns stakeholders without relying on direct authority.
  • Ownership & Continuous Improvement - Takes ownership beyond launch, monitors performance and adoption, responds to feedback, and continuously improves solutions.
  • Planning & Organization - Prioritizes work, manages multiple initiatives, maintains accurate project information, and delivers in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Professional Judgment & Ethics - Exercises independent judgment, maintains confidentiality, demonstrates integrity, and supports responsible and secure use of AI.
  • Adaptability & Curiosity - Remains current on emerging technologies and readily adapts to changing tools, priorities, requirements, and business needs.
  • Quality & Dependability - Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, accountability, and consistent follow-through.

And these qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in software development, business systems, analytics, or business intelligence.
  • Hands-on experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
