The Loudoun County Department of General Services is seeking qualified applicants to fill a one-year full-time temporary Environmental Program Specialist position.

Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, serves as: Project Manager for County Water and Wastewater Program initiatives and projects, subject matter expert for the Loudoun County Water and Wastewater Needs Assessment, and technical expert and adviser for community water and wastewater issues in the County. This position performs complex and detailed analyses of environmental programs, legislation, policies, regulations, and potential liabilities in Loudoun County; provides technical support on a variety of environmental initiatives and on water and wastewater systems serving County facilities; and prepares and may present information to the Board of Supervisors, Commissions, Committees, organizations, and the general public.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or similar field; four (4) years related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must undergo criminal, credit, and DMV background checks.
VA Licensed Alternative Onsite Soil Evaluator and/or VA Licensed Alternative Onsite System Operator preferred.
