Job Description

The Trulaske College of Business has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Consultant to be a trusted advisor, working closely with faculty, staff, and leaders to support the effective administration of HR policies, processes, and programs. The Human Resources Consultant work collaboratively with college leadership, Shared Services, and university HR partners to recommend solutions, improve processes, ensure compliance, and deliver effective HR services that support the college's mission. Duties include but are not limited to:

Human Resources Operations and Administration
* Support employee lifecycle processes, including hiring, onboarding, transfers, promotions, leaves, and separations.
* Coordinate and process a wide variety of human resources transactions and activities for the college. Prepare employment-related documentation, including appointment letters, offer letters, personnel actions, and other HR correspondence.
* Maintain HR records and documentation in accordance with university policies and procedures.

Employee Relations
* Counsel leaders on job performance, compliance and university policy/practice matters.
* Advise leaders on corrective actions based on fact-finding and evaluation of risks associated with specific situations (e.g., disciplinary action, performance improvement plans, involuntary separations, etc.). Help execute actions as needed.
* Assist with conflict resolution and investigations.
* Partner with Employee and Labor Relations Center of Expertise (COE) and other institutional subject matter experts (SME).

Employee Experience and Performance Management
* Oversee annual performance review/appraisal process. Train and communicate with employees and leaders on the performance review process.
* Implement effective orientation and training to continually strengthen competencies necessary to achieve the college's goals.
* Partner with Learning & Organizational Development COE to monitor workforce trends and sentiment through available institutional pulse and exit surveys.

Recruitment
* Consult with and support hiring authorities to enhance and streamline recruitment processes and to ensure equal employment opportunities.
* Maintain awareness of College needs, to recommend and implement retention programs, facilitate succession planning discussions, and build internal talent pipelines.
* Partner with Talent Acquisition COE to recommend attraction and selection improvements and best practices.

Compensation and Classification
* Assist with job audits, analysis, and Position Classification Questionnaires (PCQ). Develop position descriptions.
* Coach leaders on and evaluate requests for pay changes due to reclassifications or other out-of-cycle pay changes. Educate leaders on compensation and classification architecture, regulations, institutional philosophy, and best practices.
* Partner with Compensation COE.

Compliance, Programs, and Process Improvement
* Apply knowledge of university policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state regulations to support compliant HR practices.
* Assist in implementing and administering HR programs and initiatives.

Shift

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

* A strong focus on customer service and ability to create and maintain trusted relationships with key faculty and staff leaders.
* Ability to work collaboratively across department units and HR functions.
* Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, judgment, interpersonal, and management skills.
* A consultative approach to managing people-related needs.
* Experience with higher education and academic programs.
* Ability to analyze, synthesize, and present information at the appropriate level for various stakeholder groups.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $53,976 - $70,000 per year

Grade: GGS 010
