THE POSITION

The PA Human Relations Commission (PHRC) is looking for an individual who will thrive in a fast-paced office environment and is organized, self-motivated and welcome attitude. We have an immediate opening for a Clerical Assistant 2 to provide administrative and clerical support within our Harrisburg regional office of PHRC. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides essential support to administrative, supervisory, legal, and investigative staff to help advance the mission of the agency.

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Service Initiation: Start the investigation process for complaints using the required software and case management tools
  • File Preparation: Prepare and organize case file folders for staff use
  • Visitor Assistance: Assist visitors by addressing complaints and guiding them to the appropriate resources
  • Scheduling Support: Schedule and reschedule appointments as assigned
  • Equipment Operation: Operate office equipment and maintain basic supply levels
  • Office Organization: Maintain an orderly and efficient office environment

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work Hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
