THE POSITION

Would you like to work in an office environment that is positive and friendly with a variety of work functions? Then the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC), Office Services could be the place for you.

Within Office Services we focus on friendly, quick customer service. This position will provide procurement assistance, automotive services, and office support to help ensure operations are conducted efficiently and effectively throughout the Commission. We work as a team to complete a variety of tasks in Office Services such as mail services, procurement, disbursement of supplies, surplus and recycling, automotive services, event setup/teardown, and duplicating/printing services.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides support across several office service functions, including automotive coordination, storeroom operations, surplus processing, mail services, and duplicating support. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Automotive Coordination: Maintain fleet records and process forms for vehicle assignments, swaps, accidents, and pool use
  • Procurement Support: Assist procurement staff by helping process supply orders and services using SAP systems and purchasing card procedures
  • Storeroom Operations: Manage the storeroom by organizing supplies and preparing items for distribution
  • Surplus Processing: Prepare items for surplus and recycling through the PASS system
  • Event Assistance: Set up and reset equipment or furniture for agency events
  • Mailroom Support: Process mail, operate mailing equipment, and maintain electronic tracking records as backup support
  • Duplicating Support: Provide backup in the duplicating shop by utilizing copiers, binding, cutter, and folder inserter equipment; and monitor email resource account for requests
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: Part-time work from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. The successful candidate is required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless the employee meets eligibility requirements and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.
    • To be eligible to participate in telework, the employee's alternate (telework) worksite must meet the following requirements:
      • Within a reasonable travel distance of headquarters; and
      • Within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
