Position Summary

Responsible for the Salvation Army Kroc Center's marketing and communications strategies, as well as overall branding and image. Prepares annual marketing plans, creates a calendar of campaigns, sets the marketing budget, provides quarterly analytics to the Center Director, and analyzes the market and competitors. Provides direction, guidance and leadership to the marketing department. Responsible for brand partnership outreach to secure monetary and in-kind donations. Responsible for expanding community relations and informing partners of strategic business goals.

Salary Range: $85,000- 90,000

Essential Functions



  • Translate the Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center's (RJKCCC) short- and long-term goals into actionable marketing activities.
  • Create a vision for the RJKCCC yearly marketing and partnership strategy.
  • Manage a team of Creatives that are responsible for Kroc brand guidelines, website, digital assets, social media, environmental graphics, video, and on-site branding.
  • Plan, develop, and implement a marketing plan for each program at RJKCCC with a quarterly analytics report.
  • Working in cooperation with program directors and managers to keep an accurate calendar of all regularly scheduled and special events held at the RJKCCC.
  • Assist leading brand strategy for Kroc West Virtual Marketing Team.
  • Assess market position and trends, devise advertising strategy, and presents to senior management.
  • Manages Kroc Marketing production calendar.
  • Guide social media content creation and direction.
  • Develop the collection of RJKCCC member list database. Communication with members by email and text.
  • Develop and implement a partnership strategy to increase the reach and impact of ongoing efforts at the Salvation Army Kroc Center.
  • Deliver professional presentations to potential partner organization with the ability to persuade and close business.
  • Develop partner networks and strategic partnerships in San Diego.
  • Conceptualize new strategic initiatives that could be built around or benefit Kroc Center programs.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting of partnership pipeline.
  • Research demand for program services.
  • Identify marketing trends and report to Kroc Center Directors for potential implementation
  • Perform other assignments/duties as directed.


Working Conditions

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to be able to lift up to 10lbs. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinets drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • 10+ years' experience in marketing and running a marketing team.
  • At least 5 years of experience in strategic sales or business development.
  • Proven marketing campaign experience.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Strong copywriting skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets.
  • Proven ability to find strategic partnerships. that have led to increased revenue.

  • High competence in project and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Competency with Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Analytics, and other necessary platforms.
  • Ability to negotiate and work with high level executives.
  • Demonstrated success of having expanded and cultivated partnerships over time.
