Job Summary:

Provides leadership and management support for performance improvement, patient safety and/or decision support for clinical and non-clinical departments. Ensures the improvement, operations, analytical and/or data needs of UNC Health Care System and its customers are met. Designs and maintains the systems and tools necessary to facilitate UNCHCS meeting its business, operational, strategic, regulatory, and financial obligations to internal and external stakeholders or customers.

The Manager of Analytics and Performance Improvement reports to The University of North Carolina Health Alliance's Director of Performance Execution within the Business Development and Performance Management team. The objective of the role is to optimize performance, data flow, internal and external relationships, and reporting through the management and guidance of all the activities related to APM contract management and payer partnerships.

A critical part of the role is also to focus on teammate development and growth to build a team with a strong foundation.

Key performance areas include detailed knowledge of all contracts, contract performance optimization, reporting and insights, relationship management, and opportunity development support.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Provide guidance to operations teams related to definitions of measures and other parameters to help determine whether payers will give credit for various operating activities
• Partner with teams developing and implementing tools to support contract execution by providing and updating attribution reports, rosters and working with payers to clear up data quality and accuracy issues
• Build and maintain productive working relationships with payers and external partners, e.g. ACO partners, the co-creation of JOC agendas with payers and HA stakeholders.
• Summarize and disseminate regular performance updates, including insights about what operating teams and executives should focus on.
• Support the Opportunity Development team in contract assessments, renewals and negotiations as needed.

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Health Administration or related field. Licensure/Certification Requirements: No licensure or certification required.

Professional Experience Requirements: Two (2) years of experience in process improvement or re-engineering projects, physician billing analysis or reporting, strategy and decision management, or managed care. Experience should include performance improvement, outcomes measurement, project management or personnel management, and data analysis. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
