Scope:

  • As an Engineering Co-op in the Advanced Manufacturing Group, you will contribute to engineering projects while developing practical, hands-on skills. Based on your interests and strengths, you will be assigned to one of three focus areas - Machine Development, Optical Electronics Development, or Industry 4.0 - and work under the guidance of an early-career engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Machine Development:
    • Design, build, and test robotic work-cells, manufacturing/test equipment, and other mechatronics systems
  • Optical Electronics Development:
    • Design, build, and test optical electronics assemblies, tooling, and supporting equipment
    • Simulate and refine optical systems
    • Support specification, integration, and qualification of optical lab and manufacturing equipment
  • Industry 4.0:
    • Develop, test, and deploy industry leading software that connects equipment and factories and supports end users
    • Work directly with software users to understand their needs and improve their experience
  • Across all focus areas
    • Support shop activities, including general testing, drafting, equipment installation, tooling design/fabrication, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute in a hands-on environment
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems collaboratively to improve parts, processes, or systems
  • Ability to research independently and propose new solutions
  • Interest in working with a diverse team of technicians and engineers
  • Desire to work on difficult problems in a fast-paced, startup-like environment within a larger company
  • Enthusiasm for designing and building things, with a desire to strengthen technical skills

Education and Experience:

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in an engineering or technical program, with at least two semesters of coursework - or equivalent instruction or self-study - completed by the start of the co-op

Preferred Experience:

  • Participation in Formula teams or other engineering clubs
  • Volunteer projects, personal projects, or work experience demonstrating mechanical, electrical, or software aptitude

Note: This is a fully on-site position in either Stafford Springs, CT or Farmingdale, NY.

Benefits are available 1st of the month following date of hire.

Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition ofForeign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
