What You Can Expect

As a NERC Compliance Engineer Senior or Engineering Advisor, you will support ENGIE's North America renewable energy portfolio by helping ensure engineering activities and operating assets align with applicable NERC Reliability Standards.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Compliance, site teams, and technical subject matter experts to strengthen compliance programs, manage technical risk, and maintain audit readiness across a growing renewable energy fleet.

What You Will Do



  • Perform and review technical studies, compliance evidence, documentation, and internal controls supporting NERC Reliability Standards
  • Support compliance activities associated with PRC, MOD, FAC, EOP, and other applicable standards
  • Evaluate new or revised requirements and help determine necessary engineering, operational, or process changes
  • Participate in audits, internal assessments, self-certifications, and corrective action activities
  • Identify technical compliance risks and recommend improvements to engineering processes and controls
  • Provide technical guidance in areas such as protection systems, relay testing, power system modeling, and substation equipment



What You'll Bring



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; seven (7) years of directly relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in NERC compliance, power systems, protection and controls, utility generation, or renewable energy engineering; OR, a minimum of seven (7) years required for consideration at the Engineering Advisor level
  • Demonstrated experience with NERC Reliability Standards, particularly PRC, MOD, FAC, and/or EOP
  • Experience performing or reviewing technical compliance studies, documentation, or evidence
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills



Evergreen Note

This is an evergreen posting intended to identify qualified talent for current and future NERC Compliance Engineering opportunities within ENGIE's Renewables organization. Candidates may be considered at either the Senior Engineer or Engineering Advisor level based on their experience, technical knowledge, demonstrated subject matter expertise, scope and complexity of prior responsibilities, and level of independent ownership.

  • These positions are eligible for ENGIE's hybrid work policy and are not eligible for fully remote work
  • Must be available to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time, including occasional overnight travel
  • We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role at any time
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and clean driving record to operate company, hire, or rental vehicles as needed for site visits
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies



Compensation

We are recruiting across two levels, and we will determine appropriate placement based on the candidate's experience and scope. Salary Range will be included in the formal job posting once a specific level of opportunity is determined and posted.

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
