Job Overview The Associate Visual Designer is responsible for the creation of provocative and engaging visual solutions for in-store marketing campaigns and collateral. The Associate Visual Designer is an imaginative, fast thinking, conceptual designer with experience in branding and fashion. Essential Functions * Create original designs for in-store, vendor and in department merchandising techniques and maintain design standards throughout all collateral * Assist in design and development of visual concepts for special projects, in department merchandising concepts and seasonal campaigns * Research and stay on trend with the latest cutting edge ideas and design, in fashion, materials, typography, illustrators and culture * Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects and collaborate with internal and external team members Qualifications and Competencies * Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university * 1-2 years related experience * Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner * Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels * Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically * Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs Physical Requirements * Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders * Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions * Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs This job description is not all inclusive; additionally, Macy's, Inc. reserves the right to amend this job description at any time.
