OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is seeking a high school, technical school or community college Engineering or Drafting and Design student for a paid apprenticeship program in our Greenwood Village, CO headquarters. Imagine supporting rewarding client projects such as those involving aerospace missions, national defense, research laboratories, land development, water systems, sustainable energy, bio-manufacturing, and industrial manufacturing, as well as being exposed to unparalleled training and development opportunities! The apprenticeship program has a commitment of approximately 18 months to 2 years. The Merrick Apprenticeship Program will provide an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of engineering, design and drafting. The apprentice will be exposed to various design items, including detailed design, 3D modeling, and drawing creation. Typical design systems may include architectural and interior design and documentation, structural design, HVAC design, process piping and plumbing design, pressure vessels, facilities electrical design and documentation, containment systems, custom equipment, and material handling equipment. This specific apprenticeship position is for a process design apprentice and will work directly with small teams to produce drawings, project documentation, and fabrication packages of piping utility needs for custom equipment with direction from the project engineer. Typical equipment includes containment systems (gloveboxes, hot cells, cleanrooms), material handling equipment, small scale process piping & equipment, furnace systems, metal working systems (mills, lathes, rolling machines) and pressure vessels. The position requires collaboration with other disciplines, the ability to work independently and the ability to problem solve. WHAT YOU'LL DO
