| Job Description |
ECU Department of Military Science is currently seeking several Office Assistants.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administrative Support
- Provide front desk coverage, greet visitors, and assist cadets, staff, and prospective students
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and route inquiries appropriately
- Maintain accurate records, files, and databases (digital and physical)
- Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and ROTC events
- Support preparation of reports, correspondence, and program materials
Uniform Issue & Supply Support
- Assist in issuing, fitting, and collecting ROTC uniforms and equipment
- Maintain organized inventory of uniforms, supplies, and accessories
- Track accountability of issued items using established systems
- Inspect returned uniforms for cleanliness and serviceability
- Assist with inventory counts and restocking of supplies
- Ensure proper storage and organization of uniform rooms
Cadet & Program Support
- Assist cadets with uniform questions, fitting, and wear guidance (as trained)
- Support ROTC training events, orientations, and special functions
- Help set up and break down for events, briefings, and inspections
- Maintain confidentiality of cadet and program information
Note: This position supports both Army and Air Force
ROTC programs and may require coordination between both departments. |

Preferred Qualifications
- Interest in military service or ROTC programs
- Experience with inventory management or administrative work
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to lift and move boxes (up to 25-40 lbs)
- Ability to stand for extended periods during uniform issue or events
- Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Attention to detail and accountability
Work Schedule
- Flexible schedule based on academic commitments and office needs
- May require occasional early morning or late afternoon support for ROTC activities

- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and integrity
- Follow ROTC policies and procedures at all times
