Job Overview

The Data Modeler is responsible for designing and testing enterprise data products, articulating and documenting why a data product is designed the way it is as part of a larger strategy, working with analysts to balance technical and functional requirements, and partnering with Data Engineers to code, build, and implement the data product.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify / innovate data solutions that answer business questions
  • Design, test and maintain data products ( tables, fields, glossaries / standards )
  • Maintain documentation ( Data models and Standards ) of data products
  • Facilitate meetings to gather requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to mentally acquire/process large amounts of information (including complex business logic) and how it applies to different business processes.
  • Understanding of Data Warehousing, Data Migration/Lineage, Data Profiling, Data Presentation, and Statistical Analysis.
  • Develop strong working relationships with process owners, data stewards, product owners to create trust and confidence in data solutions.
  • Curiosity - insatiable desire to understand the mindset and business process of your business partner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (4 years)
  • 3 to up to 5 years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration is preferred

Work Environment

  • Normal office environment
