Tharros is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to provide senior technical leadership in support of systems engineering efforts at NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA. In this role, you will lead cross-functional engineering activities across weapon systems, fire control, cybersecurity, and combat systems integration. You will guide day-to-day technical execution for strategic and surface weapon system programs, helping translate government requirements into clear, actionable engineering tasks for the contractor team.

Projects include systems engineering support of a variety of weapons systems, weapons control systems, and warfare systems.

Responsibilities



  • Projects include systems engineering support of a variety of weapons systems, weapons control systems, and warfare systems.
  • Provide project engineering and technical leadership across all SOW task areas
  • Coordinate systems engineering efforts spanning weapons, combat, fire control, and cyber domains
  • Lead identification, analysis, and resolution of complex systems engineering issues involving DoD surface and subsurface Navy weapon systems
  • Direct system integration activities across multiple Navy surface and submarine platforms
  • Review and approve technical deliverables for quality and compliance prior to government submission
  • Coordinate with government TPOCs on technical direction, task prioritization, and engineering issues
  • Support development and maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule for engineering tasks
  • Mentor junior and journeyman engineers across technical disciplines
  • Lead technical risk identification and mitigation planning
  • Support DevSecOps pipeline integration and full stack software engineering activities as required
  • Active SECRET clearance; ability to obtain andmaintainTS/SCI
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and 10 years of relevant experience; OR 15 years of experience relevant to SOW technical disciplines
  • 10 years of systems engineering, design, and development experience withweapon, combat, or fire control systems
  • Experience with identification, analysis, and resolution of complex systems engineering issues involving DoD cyber situational awareness, surface, and subsurface Navy weapon systems
  • 6 years ofconcurrent, direct experience providing project engineering and technical leadership for a DoD enterprise program or Navyprogramsuch as SLBM, Aegis, or Tomahawk
  • Experience with system integration across multiple Navy surface and submarine platforms and operational weapon systems
  • Experience withDevSecOpspipeline and full stack software engineering
  • Experience with Integrated Logistics Support, Test and Evaluation, or software engineering disciplines
  • Familiarity with DoD enterprise systems integration
  • Prior NSWCDD Dahlgren Division project engineering experiencedesired
  • Experience with the program offices and systems described in the description section
