Supervisor - Inventory Control

About the Role

Westlake is seeking a Supervisor - Inventory Control to lead inventory management, receiving, production planning and scheduling, and Product Data Management activities supporting our Marion, Bristol, and Westfield operations. This role provides leadership and direction to ensure inventory accuracy, efficient production planning, strong workflow execution, and the ability to adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise inventory control clerks, supply room personnel, and return goods coordinators.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures that improve workflow, accuracy, performance, and compliance with company policies.
  • Lead multi-site inventory management for raw materials, finished goods, and consignment locations.
  • Oversee cycle counting, month-end inventory, year-end inventory, and related control processes.
  • Support production scheduling and line configuration to maximize throughput, reduce downtime, and meet customer and inventory requirements.
  • Develop annual SKU forecasts and manage related information in JD Edwards.
  • Maintain Product Data Management processes, including creation and maintenance of JDE catalog items across branch plants.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve inventory, planning, scheduling, and operational issues.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and support to team members to drive accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of six years of direct inventory management and planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn concepts into actionable plans.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with JD Edwards or similar database/ERP systems.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar supply chain designation.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement experience.

Our compensation structure reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The pay range, $85,000 - $110,000 per year, is based on market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company.

Work Environment

This position supports manufacturing operations and requires regular interaction with production, inventory, receiving, supply room, and cross-functional teams. The role may require time on the production floor and the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds while following all required safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
