Job Summary

The Class A Driver / Warehouse Associate is responsible for safely transporting pipe, valves, fittings, and related materials to local customer and delivery sites while also supporting warehouse operations based on business needs. The role is approximately 50% driving and 50% warehouse work. Driving responsibilities include operating an F-550 with a 40-foot gooseneck trailer and other automatic vehicles as assigned. Deliveries are generally local, with the furthest delivery approximately one hour away. Warehouse responsibilities include pulling tickets, putting away stock, and operating a sit-down forklift and cherry picker at heights of up to 20 feet.

Job Responsibilities



  • Deliver materials according to scheduled delivery times.
  • Operate an F-550 with a 40-foot gooseneck trailer and other assigned automatic vehicles safely and responsibly.
  • Validate delivery directions and routes before and during deliveries.
  • Properly secure all materials and ensure loads remain within applicable weight limits.
  • Unload or assist with unloading materials as required.
  • Deliver the appropriate ticket with the materials and obtain the customer's signature.
  • Use the assigned delivery device to document deliveries, including taking photographs of dropped-off materials, and remain logged into the device while working.
  • Verify that all materials have been unloaded and placed at the designated delivery site.
  • Print the customer's name next to the signature when necessary.
  • Pick up customer returns and verify that products match the requested credit.
  • Pick up local-pickup purchase orders.
  • Secure and return packing lists and delivery documentation.
  • Review completed deliveries with the supervisor for accuracy and completion.
  • Return all delivery ticket copies to the warehouse and verify that documentation is complete.
  • Communicate with the supervisor throughout the workday regarding deliveries, customer needs, and other assigned activities.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Comply with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and regulations.
  • Fuel assigned vehicles as needed.
  • Report vehicle problems, moving violations, accidents, and defects to the supervisor promptly.
  • Assist with warehouse operations based on business needs.
  • Pull tickets and prepare materials for orders and deliveries.
  • Put away stock and maintain organized warehouse inventory.
  • Operate sit-down forklifts and cherry pickers safely.
  • Work from elevated positions of up to 20 feet when operating warehouse equipment.
  • Operate vehicles equipped with cameras and follow applicable safety procedures.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during all deliveries and interactions.
  • Follow applicable safety rules, regulations, procedures, and workplace policies.
  • Support operational goals and initiatives.
  • Work overtime as needed.


Job Requirements



  • At least 1 year of experience driving the class of vehicles assigned to the position.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) held for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Minimum Class B CDL required; Class A CDL required for operation of an F-550 with a 40-foot gooseneck trailer as assigned.
  • Valid state-issued self-certification designation of non-excepted interstate and proof of the required designation.
  • At least 6 months of recent forklift experience.
  • At least 6 months of recent cherry picker experience.
  • Ability to safely operate trucks equipped with cameras.
  • Ability to use a delivery device to document deliveries and take photographs of delivered materials.
  • Ability to safely secure, transport, unload, and handle materials.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment and work at heights of up to 20 feet.
  • Ability to comply with DOT requirements and applicable safety standards.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in both driving and warehouse environments.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
