Responsibilities

Backoffice Services - Hardware and Software Acquisition Analyst

Hardware Acquisitions and Software License Management within the Backoffice Services branch of the GIS Infrastructure team that provides customer facing management of client/server hardware acquisition, life cycle software management, process improvement, data analysis and research, vendor interaction, and customer service within a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.

Major Activities/Key Challenges:

  • Work alone or as part of a team to procure hardware and/or software licenses for internal customers that meet the needs of the customer. This is to be accomplished by working with external vendors and utilizing toolsets currently in place.

  • Enter asset or software license data into a predefined system ensuring data accuracy and process compliance.

  • Keep track of received data and source documents.

  • Contact preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.

  • Perform data analysis and research, execute identified standards and processes in support of hardware and software licensing, acquisition and inventory management, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Perform data analysis and research, and execute approved procedures involving software classification for newly installed client software.

  • Manage assigned functional software license reporting activities including new software classification, and a perpetual review and reclassification of existing applications.

  • Support information and reporting for budget, hardware and software license inventory.

  • Execute and maintain hardware and software license information within our identified tracking system in direct support of hardware and software license inventory, renewals and acquisition.

  • Assist in the development of reporting and process improvement to address management requirements for information access.

  • Communicate with end-users, management, team members, peers, and suppliers as required.

  • Respond to requests from your manager, and team members for specific hardware and software license information.

  • Carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Manage the Service Level Agreement (SLA) process in assigned area(s) of responsibility.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Basic:

  • Fluent in English. Other languages a plus.

  • Ability and drive to work within a Team environment

  • Personal motivation to excel within the role

  • IS/IT asset management experience

  • Software acquisition skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Excel and Access

  • Conceptual knowledge of Information Services/Technology

  • Knowledge in Servicenow a plus

    Salary Range: $54k-$58k/year approximation (actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/org location).
