Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior People & Culture Manager to lead the HR/P&C function at a large manufacturing site in Starkville, MS. This individual will lead the site's P&C team while partnering closely with senior plant and operational leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will be a tenured HR leader with significant manufacturing experience, strong people management capabilities, and a track record of supporting plant operations. This role requires someone who can balance strategic HR leadership with the hands-on demands of a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the site's People & Culture/HR team.
  • Partner with senior plant and operational leadership to develop and execute HR strategies supporting business objectives.
  • Oversee all plant-level HR functions, including employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, training and development, performance management, and benefits administration.
  • Coach and advise leaders and employees on performance, employee relations, conflict resolution, and organizational matters.
  • Lead HR policy development, implementation, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and labor laws, company policies, and employment best practices.
  • Partner with organizational Centers of Excellence (COEs) on talent and HR initiatives.
  • Identify workforce skill gaps and implement training and talent development programs.
  • Lead succession planning, career development, and performance management initiatives.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Lead change management efforts supporting organizational growth and transformation.
  • Manage HRIS and related HR systems to ensure process efficiency, data integrity, and accurate reporting.
  • Develop and monitor HR metrics, identify trends, and provide data-driven recommendations to leadership.
  • Manage, coach, and develop P&C team members.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Significant progressive HR experience, with a strong portion of that experience supporting manufacturing environments.
  • Prior experience leading HR/P&C operations within a manufacturing plant or similarly complex operational environment.
  • Strong people management experience with demonstrated success developing HR team members.
  • Experience partnering directly with senior plant and operations leadership.
  • Strong employee relations, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution experience.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience with talent management, succession planning, organizational development, and change management.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience utilizing HRIS platforms, HR metrics, and workforce data to support decision-making.


Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar professional HR certification.
  • Experience serving as the senior HR leader for a large or complex manufacturing facility.
  • Experience supporting both hourly manufacturing populations and salaried leadership.
  • Experience supporting multi-shift manufacturing operations.
  • Strong HR analytics and reporting capabilities.
