Job Posting Title: Per Diem Cardiology APP (APRN/PA) Hospital Site: Bridgeport Hospital Location: 267 Grant St, Bridgeport, CT 06610 Work Schedule: 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM). Per diem providers are expected to commit to a minimum of two shifts per month and maintain some availability around holiday periods. Half shifts may be available based on department needs, with additional opportunities to cover PTO and leaves of absence. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The APP will manage the pre-procedure and post-procedure cardiac care area, supporting patients undergoing a variety of cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic tests. Responsibilities include evaluation, management, and follow-up care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology procedures and ablations, pacemaker procedures, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), cardioversions, and LINQ insertions. The APP will also perform and interpret stress tests and tilt table tests while collaborating closely with cardiologists, nursing staff, and other members of the cardiovascular team.
Qualifications REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or an accredited Physician Assistant Program. LICENSURE Active PA Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, ACLS/BLS Certified, when indicated for position profile DEA License, when indicated for pediatric position profile PALS, when indicated for neonatal care NRP Certification. Additional licensure, certifications and/or continuing education credits may be required during employment based on position and area of specialty. OR Connecticut State Registered Nurse License, Connecticut State Nurse Practitioner License, Board specialty certification, as appropriate for position profile ACLS/BLS Certified, when indicated for position profile DEA License, when indicated for pediatric position profile PALS, when indicated for neonatal care NRP Certification.
