Selective is seeking a skilled General Liability Claims Specialist for this fully remote position to handle claims throughout Selective's footprint. It is preferred that the ideal candidate has experience handling General Liability claims for Selective's Midwest and Western States.

This role provides direct ownership of a diverse portfolio of non-litigated General Liability claims. The General Liability Claim Adjuster applies sound claims judgment and strong technical expertise to analyze coverage, conduct thorough investigations, evaluate exposures, negotiate resolutions, and bring claims to timely disposition.

With meaningful responsibility for claim outcomes, the adjuster delivers high-quality service to customers and business partners while managing claims in accordance with company policies, procedures, prescribed authority, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements. This position offers the opportunity to build deep General Liability expertise, make informed decisions, and contribute directly to efficient, fair, and effective claim resolution.

• ManageaportfolioofGeneralLiabilityclaimsfrominitialreportthroughresolution.
• Investigatecoverage,liability,anddamagesbygatheringinformationfrominsureds,claimants,witnesses,attorneys,andotherrelevantparties.
• Analyzepolicycoverageandissuerequiredclaimcorrespondenceinaccordancewithapplicablelaws,regulations,andcompanyguidelines.
• Evaluateclaimexposures,establishandmaintainappropriatereserves,andnegotiatefairandtimelysettlementswithindelegatedauthority.
• Coordinatewithdefensecounsel,experts,andotherserviceprovidersonlitigatedorcomplexclaimmatters.
• Identifyrecoveryopportunities,includingcontributionandsubrogation,whenapplicable.
• Maintainaccurateandtimelyclaimdocumentation,payments,andexpenseapprovalsintheclaimsmanagementsystem.
• Partnereffectivelywithinsureds,agents,underwriters,andinternalteamstodeliveraresponsiveandhigh-qualityclaimsexperience.
• Recognizepotentialfraudindicatorsandrefermattersinaccordancewithcompanyprocedures.

• Applicable state claims adjuster licensure preferred.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor'sdegreepreferred.
• FiveormoreyearsofcommercialGeneralLiabilityclaimshandlingexperiencepreferred.
• Experienceevaluatingandresolvingbodilyinjuryclaimspreferred.
• Relevantinsuranceindustrytrainingorprofessionaldesignationspreferred.
