Summary of Job Duties:The Computer Support Technician reports directly to the CBHHS IT Director and is primarily
responsible for assisting with the setup of laptops, desktops, and other technologies, including
configurations, repairs, deployments, software updates, patch management, and preventive
maintenance. They provide direct support to faculty, staff, and students both virtually and in person, and report on statuses, successes, problems, and outages in a professional and timely manner. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or completion of at least 48 college credit hours in a related field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience in a technology-related field.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with desktop support, troubleshooting, and customer service.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or currently in progress);
  • Exposure to system imaging, hardware maintenance, and accessibility tools.
  • Experience training or mentoring peers in the use of technology;
  • Hands-on experience in technical support, IT helpdesk, or a similar technology-related role.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the CBHHS IT Director to ensure quality learning environments are maintained and updated;
  • Assist with the setup of laptops, desktops, and other technologies, including configurations; repairs, deployments, software updates, patch management, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain an inventory of all active and M&R'd technology;
  • Provide direct support to faculty, staff, and students both virtually and in person;
  • Report on statuses, successes, problems, and outages in a professional and timely manner;
  • Address and complete all assigned service tickets in a timely manner;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds;

in user-friendly language;

  • Ability to work independently and in groups;
