Job Summary:

Assist in executing any maintenance activity including, but not limited to, carrying out general repairs, rebuilding, modification and fabrication of equipment, components or structures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the essential functions, physical demands, or work environment.

While conducting preventative maintenance, identify potential maintenance issues to the maintenance planner or lead person.

Assist with routine and complex repairs and modifications on manufacturing equipment under close supervision of TMS Team Lead or Supervisor. Assist with design and fabrication of manufacturing equipment.

Assist in performing general and miscellaneous equipment and building construction duties such as general carpentry, cement finishing, pipe fitting, and block laying.

Operate fork truck, scrubber, and manlift as needed to complete work assignments.

Operates drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

Hand weld as necessary to fabricate parts or equipment needed to repair or maintain manufacturing equipment or facilities. Completes annual updates of OSHA required training as assigned by supervisor.

Reports any safety malfunctions, near hits, and/or injuries to supervisor immediately.

Proficient in acetylene cutting and welding.

Proficient in MIG, TIG, and stick welding.

Education/ Experience/ Skills:

Experienced in mechanical and machine assembly and component fabrication.

Ability and willingness to take instructions from various maintenance personnel.

Ability and willingness to work odd hours and weekends when required.

In-depth knowledge of the layout of the manufacturing areas.

Good knowledge of the facility's fire protection and air ventilation systems layout and equipment locations.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Blueprint reading experience.

Must be able to follow directions and work independently. Must demonstrate a high level of motivation and self-management skill.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to coworkers, other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Forklift, manlift and scrubber operators' licenses. Certified hand welder

Physical Demand & Work Environment:



  • Often required to sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Vision ability required include close vision
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
