A Brief Overview The Medical Equipment Project Planner is a member of the Capital & Services Sourcing Team (within the Contracting & Procurement department of Supply Chain), which is responsible for supporting the contracting and sourcing requirements of the entire organization. This position reports to the Strategic Sourcing Manager for Capital & Services.
The Medical Equipment Project Planner performs core functions to include: defining business requirements, vendor identification, negotiation, evaluation, award and implementation. This position also serves an equipment planner for construction projects and provides tactical leadership for CHOP's Capital & Services contracting group. What you will do
- Identifies standardization and savings opportunities based on CHOP equipment standards.
- Provides strategic guidance for furniture, equipment and construction sourcing for the various departments within the hospital.
- Comprehensive capital equipment list development using CHOP standards, facilitating equipment planning meetings, finalizing specifications with stakeholders.
- Proactively manages organizational-wide equipment standards list and ensures equipment standards are followed from design through project go-live.
- Develops and manages both medical and non-medical equipment budgets for various construction projects.
- Successfully manage simultaneous projects with short timelines and challenging logistics.
- Obtain and coordinate technical data for equipment by interacting directly with architects, designers and project managers.
- Proactively ensures compliance with CHOP's supplier-diversity objectives relative to contracting, to include ensuring that awarded contracts meet and /or exceed CHOP objectives.
- Monitors vendor performance and end-user satisfaction throughout the term of the project. Supports Value Analysis (CHOPtimize), Supplier Diversity, and other Supply Chain programs as needed with activities such as market research, cost analyses, and other data and information to assist in the decision making and contracting processes.
- Partners with suppliers and stakeholders to establish and maintain positive business relationships.
- Seeks out new suppliers to engage in business.
- Understands Supply Chain's vision, plus participates in defining goals and objectives and coordinates efforts to achieve goals.
- Provides insight and suggestions for process and communication improvement between Supply Chain stakeholders.
- Validates and documents achieved savings for budgetary purposes.
- Knowledge of Contract Law that allows compliance with all hospital, regulatory, and legal guidelines regarding contracting.
- Works collaboratively with all levels of Supply Chain staff.
- Reports progress on a monthly or as requested basis.
- Interfaces with CHOP Legal department, as necessary, to review contracts and proposals.
- Participates in workgroups, forums, and professional societies to include participation in at least one Supply Chain improvement workgroup per year.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- At least seven (7) years experience Required
Skills and Abilities
- Contract administration
- Customer and supplier relationship management
- Proven project management skills with small to medium sized projects (3-10 people).
- Moderate to advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, data analysis, business case development, ERP systems.
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) - National Contract Management Association (NCMA) - upon hire - Preferred or
- Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) - National Contract Management Association (NCMA) - upon hire - Preferred

$107,200.00 - $142,100.00 Annually
