Inside the Role

Ability to operate equipment and perform various selected operations in the manufacture of truck parts; mechanical experience
Ability to perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including repetitive processes
Ability to interpret and follow standard work instructions, drawings, operation sheets, set-up sheets and relative paperwork.
Ability to meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement
Responsibilities to operate the following equipment: Saws, Benders, Drilling Machines, Punching Machines, Presses, Grinders, Riveters, Forklifts; Overhead Hoist, Scales, Tapes, Rulers, Go/No Go Gages, Squares, Protractors, Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Height Gages, Rulers, Wrenches and various hand tools.
Maintain safe conditions and operations by maintaining a neat, clean work area

  • REQUIREMENTS FOR JOB:

  • OSHA 29-CFR 1910.178 (1) Requires that only qualified operators be permitted to operate powered industrial trucks. Therefore, employee selected must demonstrate safe and productive operation of sit-down and stand-up lifts; successfully pass a Forklift Performance Evaluation within 5 working days; and take and pass a lift truck certification within the first 30 days on the job.

Should be able to complete required job functions and pass evaluation of skills at an acceptable level within 40 days.

Move material within plant, load, and offload trucks, locate and store material, weigh out and count parts, operate necessary equipment, handle paperwork in prescribed manner, ensure safe operation practices following prescribed safety procedures, maintain safe equipment, and maintain clean work area. Will be expected to learn Access and utilize various portions of the IMS/MRP system. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
