Job Summary

An Inside Sales Trainee goes through a training program designed to develop an understanding of the company's products, service capabilities, operations, pricing, industry knowledge and sales skills needed to generate a profitable customer base. After gaining working knowledge of the fundamentals, the Inside Sales Trainee responds to customer quotes and inquiries, develops new customer accounts, and services existing accounts by providing exceptional customer service while maximizing sales and profit goals.

Job Responsibilities

Providing sales administrative support during initial stages of training.
Successfully meeting training expectations by acquiring and demonstrating the fundamentals of the position.
Building and maintaining positive customer relationships.
Interpreting customer requirements and negotiating pricing, service and delivery.
Expediting orders and responding to customer inquiries.
Evaluating sales orders for accuracy and profitability.
Reviewing sales and profit reports.
Continually learning about products, pricing, services and market/industry trends.

Requirements & Qualifications

College degree or equivalent required.
Sales, sales support and/or customer service experience required.
Experience in the metals industry preferred.
Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and succeed.
Effective phone skills with strong command of the English language.
Capable of building and developing strong business relationships.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to negotiate and make sound business decisions.
High level of attention to detail.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
