The VP, Enterprise Value Management & Strategy is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing initiatives that maximize enterprise value through optimization of capital, liquidity, reinsurance, investments, strategic growth, and corporate development activities.

The incumbent is accountable for leading the Company's most complex and strategically significant financial initiatives, including enterprise capital optimization, reinsurance transactions, strategic planning, business development, mergers and acquisitions, and transformation initiatives.

The role serves as the primary executive responsible for integrating actuarial, financial, investment, regulatory, and strategic considerations into enterprise decision making.



Responsibilities

Strategic Finance and Enterprise Value Management

    Accountable for evaluation and execution of strategic initiatives involving capital deployment, reinsurance, Bermuda platform expansion, acquisitions, and other opportunities capable of materially impacting enterprise value.
  • Own enterprise-level evaluation of strategic alternatives affecting capital deployment, growth, risk profile, and shareholder value.
  • Lead development of recommendations presented to executive leadership, parent company stakeholders, and Board committees.


Bermuda Capital and Platform Development

  • Lead strategic development of the Company's Bermuda platform as a source of capital efficiency, risk management, and growth.
  • Accountable for achievement of transaction objectives including capital efficiency, liquidity improvement, earnings emergence, and risk transfer outcomes, taking into consideration the need to satisfy multiple accounting bases, e.g., US GAAP, US RBC, Bermuda EBS, JICS.
  • Own financial evaluation of opportunities to expand utilization of Bermuda-based structures.
  • Coordinate regulatory engagement with the Bermuda Monetary Authority and oversee development of business plans supporting strategic transactions.

Corporate Development and Strategic Growth

  • Lead financial evaluation of acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, and other strategic transactions.
  • Direct valuation, due diligence, financial modeling, and transaction structuring activities.
  • Support integration planning and value realization activities associated with completed transactions.
  • Develop strategic recommendations regarding market expansion, product diversification, and distribution opportunities.

Balance Sheet Management

  • Serve as enterprise thought leader on balance sheet optimization, capital management, and financial reinsurance.
  • Evaluate and structure internal and external reinsurance transactions.
  • Optimize treaty economics, risk transfer, reserve relief, capital efficiency, liquidity, and profit emergence.
  • Assess implications of US RBC, Bermuda EBS, and other solvency frameworks, as well as across US GAAP and IFRS.


Financial Planning and Analysis Enablement

  • Partner with FP&A leadership to advance forecasting and scenario modeling capabilities.
  • Develop frameworks that translate experience into impacts on earnings, capital, liquidity, and enterprise value.
  • Enhance strategic planning and decision-support analytics.

Investment and Asset Strategy

  • Partner with Investments, Actuarial, and Risk teams to optimize investment performance.
  • Evaluate asset allocation, asset segmentation, liquidity, and ALM strategies.

Special Projects and Enterprise Initiatives

  • Lead strategic transactions, accounting initiatives, and enterprise transformation efforts.
  • Provide leadership on LDTI, reinsurance transactions, and other strategic projects.


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) required; CFA, CPA, MBA, or other advanced designation desirable.

Experience and Knowledge

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in life insurance and/or annuity financial management, consulting, actuarial, capital management, reinsurance, strategy, investments, or related disciplines.
  • Deep understanding of life and annuity product economics, capital frameworks, and financial reporting.
  • Experience evaluating reinsurance transactions and strategic initiatives.
  • Familiarity with LDTI, IFRS 17, RBC, EBS, and related frameworks.

Skills and Competencies

What's in it for you?

The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses. This role is eligible to participate in the Annual Incentive Plan. The current target payment for the position is 20% of base salary, modified for corporate and individual performance. Bonuses are pro-rated based on start date. This role has 20 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
