Job Summary:
Acts as a key driver of operational excellence and regulatory compliance, managing the entire quality lifecycle-from proactive risk assessment and APQP activities to reactive root cause analysis and corrective actions. The Quality Engineer requires technical expertise in AS9100/ISO 9001 standards, a data-driven mindset for SPC and trend analysis, and the communication skills to interface effectively with both shop-floor leadership and external customers or suppliers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Compliance & Audit Leadership: Facilitate ISO 9001/AS9100 certifications and lead customer, supplier, and regulatory audits to ensure full adherence to industry standards.
  • QMS Management: Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) by ensuring efficient documentation of procedures, desk instructions, and external standards.
  • Risk & Process Planning: Execute proactive quality planning through FMEA, process mapping, and the development of robust control plans.
  • Corrective Action & Root Cause: Lead investigations into non-conformances, performing root cause analysis and initiating corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Advanced Quality Planning (APQP): Support APQP activities and participate in cross-functional projects to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Supplier Performance Management: Monitor supplier defect rates and countermeasures, conducting on-site audits and source inspections to ensure contractual compliance.
  • Data Analysis & SPC: Review and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems, analyzing trends and reporting quality performance data to top management.
  • FOD & Safety Oversight: Monitor Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control programs and communicate imminent risks or non-compliance to plant leadership immediately.
  • Training & Mentorship: Manage the employee training program, including scheduling, curriculum development for desk procedures, and onboarding new staff.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary quality liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve technical issues and support system changes.


Job Skills & Abilities:

* Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
* Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools (e.g., 5-Whys, Fishbone) and FMEA.
* Experience with SPC software, data compilation, and statistical reporting.
* Ability to bridge the gap between technical data and executive-level reporting.
* Comfortable assisting with special projects, system testing, and interpreting departmental workloads.

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelors' Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering.


Physical Requirements:

* May include: standing, walking, bending, reaching, grabbing, twisting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
* Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.

Pay Range:$80k to $110k DOE
