Are you a hands-on billing leader who thrives on turning process chaos into clean, accurate, on-time revenue? We're a well-established, industry-leading company in the medical examination and review space, and we're looking for a Billing Director to lead our billing team, own the accuracy and timeliness of our billing operations, and drive continuous improvement across the department.

This is a great fit for someone who loves building efficient systems, coaching a team to hit its goals, and being the go-to problem-solver when billing questions come up from clients, providers, or internal partners.

What You'll Do

  • Own the day-to-day management of billing operations across all lines of business
  • Lead, coach, and develop the billing team - from workload distribution to performance reviews to hiring
  • Build and maintain standard operating procedures that keep billing accurate, timely, and compliant
  • Partner closely with Operations and Collections to keep billing data clean and support collection efforts
  • Drive automation and process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy
  • Conduct regular audits to catch and correct issues before they become problems
  • Oversee invoicing (paper and electronic), provider vouchering, and adjustments
  • Serve as the point of contact for client and consultant billing inquiries, resolving disputes and escalating when needed
  • Deliver accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting
  • Champion a positive, collaborative team culture while managing performance and change

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in billing and collections (preferred)
  • Billing and/or coding certification a plus
  • Strong analytical skills - comfortable with rates, percentages, and financial calculations
  • Proficiency with billing software and systems (e.g., Great Plains, Microsoft Suite, electronic billing clearinghouses)
  • A sharp eye for accuracy and a genuine drive for continuous improvement
  • Proven people-management experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential financial information
