Job Overview:

The PSYPACT Telehealth Psychologist position at Childrens Specialized Hospital is a fully remote clinical role providing telehealth services to pediatric patients and families physically located in New Jersey. The psychologist will join a dynamic multidisciplinary outpatient behavioral health team and will provide evidence based psychological assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and psychotherapeutic intervention for children, adolescents, and young adults with a wide range of developmental, behavioral, emotional, medical, and neurodevelopmental presentations. Clinical opportunities may include collaboration with Autism and Feeding programs as needed. The psychologist will provide services primarily through secure telehealth platforms while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary medical, behavioral health, and rehabilitation providers across the Children's Specialized Hospital network.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • PhD, PsyD, EdD is Psychology from an accredited program
  • Fully active and unrestricted Psychologist license in state of residency
  • PSYPACT APIT certification - (Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology)
  • Eligibility for New Jersey licensure and or ability to meet all regulatory requirements for provision of telepsychology services to patients located in New Jersey through PSYPACT
  • 1 year of postdoctoral clinical experience
  • Minimum of one 1 year of experience working with children and or adolescents
  • Experience providing evidence based psychological assessment and psychotherapy
  • Experience working with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum
  • Experience with cognitive behavioral interventions and behavioral modification strategies
  • Maintain a private, professional, HIPAA compliant workspace with reliable internet connectivity

Preferred:

  • American Heart Association BLS
  • Experience providing telehealth psychological services
  • Standardized psychological testing experience
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with chronic medical conditions and or pediatric health psychology populations
  • Experience within integrated behavioral health or interdisciplinary medical settings

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • Fully active and unrestricted Psychologist license in state of residency
  • PSYPACT APIT certification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full time (40 hours per week)
  • Primarily Remote
  • High demand hours 3-8pm ET
  • Weekend hours

Essential Functions:

  • Performs comprehensive psychodiagnostic evaluations with new patients and identifies patient and family psychosocial needs
  • Provides evidence-based individual, family, and group psychotherapy via telehealth as clinically indicated
  • Identifies realistic treatment goals and delivers behavioral health interventions based on the developmental and psychosocial needs of pediatric patients and families
  • Provides interventions related to behavior management, emotional regulation, social skills, coping with medical conditions, treatment adherence, pain management, and or cooccurring behavioral health concerns
  • Conducts psychological assessments in the areas of cognitive, developmental, behavioral, and neuropsychological functioning as clinically appropriate
  • Participates in interdisciplinary case conferences and collaborative treatment planning
  • Provides consultation to interdisciplinary medical and rehabilitation teams as needed
  • Collaborates effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, behavioral health clinicians, and support staff across outpatient programs
  • Participates in program development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical pathway development
  • Provides educational trainings and inservices to staff and community partners as requested
  • Disseminates clinical findings accurately, sensitively, and in accordance with departmental policy and ethical standards
  • Provides supervision to trainees, fellows, interns, or staff as indicated and appropriate
  • Demonstrates competency in understanding cognitive, developmental, medical, behavioral, and psychosocial factors impacting pediatric populations
  • Maintains productivity and documentation standards consistent with departmental expectations
  • Provide a minimum number of weekly appointment hours during designated high demand scheduling hours 3 to 8 PM ET weekdays and or weekends in accordance with time zone specific scheduling requirements,
  • Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling, clinical responsibilities, and evolving programmatic needs
  • Maintains compliance with PSYPACT regulations, applicable state licensure requirements, and telehealth best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and telehealth communication skills
  • Ability to relate therapeutically and professionally with children, adolescents, caregivers, interdisciplinary clinical teams, and community providers in a telehealth environment
  • Candidate must maintain a private, professional, HIPAA compliant workspace with reliable internet connectivity suitable for telehealth service delivery
  • Flexibility in scheduling and clinical responsibilities required
  • Occasional travel to New Jersey sites for training, meetings, or programmatic initiatives may be required
