DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be supporting the Executive Assistant and helping keep daily operations organized and efficient. This position offers an insight to executive coordination and real world administrative work. As a Administrative Services Intern, you will perform the following duties:
- Calendar Support: Assist the Deputy Secretary calendar by scheduling meetings, confirming attendance, and preparing daily briefings
- Meeting Preparation: Prepare agendas, talking points, background packets, and follow-up materials
- Executive Exposure: Shadow the Executive Assistant to observe decision making and inter bureau coordination
- Project Assistance: Support assigned projects by gathering information, preparing drafts, and tracking progress
- Communication Support: Draft clear messages for internal and external stakeholders including summaries and reminders
- Record Organization: Maintain organized digital and physical files and reference materials

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Internship, Fall 2026
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office at minimum 2 to 3 days per week, depending on schedule. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly salary of $17.38 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- You must be enrolled full-time or part-time at a college or university in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of internship.
- You must be majoring, minoring, or have a concentration in Public Administration, Business Administration/Management, Political Science, Communications, English, Writing, Human Resource Management, Public Policy, Psychology, Sociology, Organizational Leadership, or another related field.
- You must have a GPA of 2.5 or above.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Requirements (not required):
- Three months of experience working or volunteering in an office setting
