Job Title: Field Engineer 4

Location(s): Indianapolis, IN

Job Summary
We are seeking a Field Computer Technician to provide onsite break/fix support for Dell laptops and desktop computers throughout the Indianapolis metro area. This role involves diagnosing hardware issues, replacing components, completing repairs at customer locations, and documenting all service activities in real time using a company-provided mobile device. Reliable transportation is required, as technicians will travel extensively throughout the service area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite diagnosis and repair of Dell laptops and desktop computers.
  • Replace hardware components including motherboards, hard drives, LCDs, keyboards, and other internal parts.
  • Complete whole-unit replacements and peripheral device repairs as required.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and basic software issues.
  • Update and close service tickets in real time using the company's mobile ticketing system.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to customer locations.
  • Maintain excellent customer service while meeting service-level expectations.
  • Complete all required product and Dell certification training.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on laptop and desktop break/fix experience.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing Dell laptops and desktop PCs.
  • Experience replacing hardware components such as motherboards, LCDs, keyboards, and hard drives.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Reliable personal vehicle and valid auto insurance.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the workday (approximately 250-350 miles per week).
  • Ability to pass background and drug screening.
  • Ability to obtain any required client or government clearances.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer building or hardware assembly experience.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification. Candidates without A+ certification must obtain it within 90 days of employment if selected.

Additional Information

  • Mileage driven between customer sites is reimbursed according to company policy.
  • Travel between home and the first work location is not reimbursed.
  • Vaccination is not required.
  • Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs.
  • Business casual dress code is required.
  • Dell certifications are mandatory before starting employment and are provided at no cost to selected candidates.
