The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.
In addition to instruction in the classroom, field, and laboratory, our students have opportunities for experiential learning on and off campus, including a growing emphasis on international experiences through short- and long-term study abroad. Students also have access to a robust program of applied research and outreach hosted by the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station laboratories, farms, business incubators, and marine stations throughout the state. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Geospatial IT Infrastructure Specialist for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. This role supports applications developed by the Center for Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis, enabling collaborative, interactive web mapping tools for research and project initiatives.
Among the key duties of this position are:
- Serves as the lead for upgrading and maintaining the Esri ArcGIS Server environment within the Rutgers Virtual Machine Network to ensure reliable delivery of web-based geospatial services.
- Works with the GIS Coordinator for implementation, production, and republishing of web services, specifically for the larger spatial data sets, and to perform testing throughout the process.
- Provides knowledge support for project and computer system hardware and software needs. This includes summarizing technical information for communication with Rutgers IT for upgrading remote desktop capabilities and backup systems, and software upgrades as needed, extent to be determined in the timeframe of work.
- Communicates progress, status, needs, and the schedule of work as needed with the CRSSA Director and GIS staff to ensure limited disruptions with ongoing project activities.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Planning or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience and five or more years of professional work experience in computer systems operations.

- Knowledge of ESRI ArcServer and Virtual Machine operating systems, and ESRI ArcPro and Arc GIS Online administration and support.
