JOB SUMMARY The Sweet-Cordero laboratory is recruiting a full-time Staff Research Associate/Laboratory Technician. Our group is based in Rock Hall at the vibrant Mission Bay campus in San Francisco, within a hub of established pediatric oncology investigators who will mentor scientific staff. Dr. Sweet-Cordero is an MD-trained physician-scientist and practicing pediatric oncologist, whose research program aims to systematically define and target molecular pathways treatment of pediatric sarcomas. The lab employs advanced sequencing approaches to analyze pediatric cancer samples. We are looking foremost for highly motivated and collaborative individuals who are eager to learn and experiment with close faculty mentorship in childhood cancer research. The position will be focused on generating high-quality RNA and DNA sequencing data from pediatric cancer samples. This will require significant molecular biology background and attention to detail as these are very difficult to obtain clinical samples. This position will end one year from start date, hiring under career conversion waiver criteria c) funding for position is one time for 18 months or less. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Identify the functions or tasks that employees in the job perform. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
