*Overview*
TEKsystems is seeking a *Help Desk Technician* in Frankfort, KY. This team operates a *24/7/365 help desk* providing critical IT support. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy fast-paced environments, problem-solving, and supporting mission-driven public safety organizations. *Schedule & Training* * *Shift:* Overnight Shift (24/7 environment) * *Training Period:* First 4 weeks will train Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM * *Shift Flexibility:* * Occasional temporary schedule changes may occur to ensure coverage * Changes are coordinated in advance * Future permanent shift openings are filled based on seniority *Key Responsibilities* * Serve as the *first point of contact* for incoming help desk calls * Create and document tickets for all incidents and service requests * Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to: * Desktops and laptops * Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) * Printers and peripherals * Network connectivity * Law enforcement-specific technologies * Utilize *remote support tools* to diagnose and resolve technical issues * Escalate incidents to Tier 2+ support when appropriate, ensuring proper documentation * Perform system monitoring and other operational support tasks * Assist with production system execution and oversight * Handle additional duties as assigned by the agency *Required Qualifications (Must Haves)* * 1+ year of technical support experience * (Open to candidates with relevant education, certifications, or internships) * Strong ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Proven ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment *Preferred Skills & Experience (Nice to Have)* * Working knowledge of Windows operating systems * Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities * Ability to quickly learn and retain new technologies * Experience working in a team-oriented environment * Ability to remain professional, calm, and courteous under stress *Work Environment* * 100% onsite * High volume call center/help desk setting *Job Type & Location* This is a Contract position based out of Frankfort, KY. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
