Cable Technician (Low Voltage - Copper & Fiber) Location: Torrance, CA (Field-based across Southern California) Schedule: Monday - Friday (~6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, may vary) Employment Type: Contract (6 Months) Pay Rate: $25-$32/hr + OT (1.5x) Overview We are hiring experienced Cable Technicians to support large-scale low voltage infrastructure projects across Southern California. This is a great opportunity to work on high-impact environments including aerospace and government-related sites, with steady hours and long-term project potential. Key Responsibilities * Install, pull, terminate, and test Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber optic cabling * Perform troubleshooting and certification testing * Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and project specifications * Maintain clean and safe job sites * Collaborate with field teams to ensure timely project completion * Submit daily progress reports and documentation Required Qualifications * 3-5+ years of low voltage cabling experience (cable technician, installer, or puller) * Hands-on expertise with: * Cat5e/Cat6 installations * Cable pulling, terminations, punch-downs, and testing * Experience working with fiber optics * Ability to read blueprints and follow technical instructions * Strong communication skills and professionalism on job sites * Must have: * Reliable vehicle (able to transport a 6' ladder) * Own basic cabling tools * Ability to: * Pass background check, drug screening, and fingerprinting * Lift up to 50 lbs and work in active field environments Nice to Have * Fiber termination experience (2-3+ years preferred) * Experience with Fluke testers * Previous experience working in government or high-security environments Work Environment * On-site, field-based role across Los Angeles, Orange County, Inland Empire, and surrounding areas * Projects include enterprise, aerospace, and government contractor sites * Fast-paced, team-oriented environment What You'll Gain * Consistent, full-time hours with overtime opportunities * Exposure to high-profile infrastructure projects * Opportunity to build experience in secure and mission-critical environments * Entry point into long-term and future project opportunities Benefits (Eligibility applies) * Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance * 401(k) Retirement Plan * Life Insurance & Disability Coverage * Health Savings Account (HSA) * Employee Assistance Program * Paid Time Off / Sick Leave Interview Process * 1-step onsite interview Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Torrance, CA.
