Starkey is hiring a Mold Maker - Class A at its Glencoe, MN location. The Class A Mold Maker will be responsible for supporting Mechanical Engineers and the Injection Lab groups in the building, repair and maintenance of injection molds.

Responsibilities

Build, repair and maintain all injection molds and their components with the highest degree of skills and craftsmanship on a consistent basis.



  • Use all foundational Tool room machines with proficiency and appropriateness to save time and improve quality.
  • Provide input into the troubleshooting and support of the injection lab.
  • Fully utilize all supporting software including, but not limited to JobBoss, Pro-E, and Mastercam.
  • Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and deliver projects successfull, even amid shifting shop priorities and conditions.


Build fixtures, prototypes, and machine parts with the highest degree of skill and craftsmanship on a consistent basis.



  • Use and apply programming software (CAD/CAM) tools to gain speed and accuracy in component manufacturing.


Maintain accurate documentation and record keeping of all Tool room procedures as necessary.



  • Maintain proficiency in all software related to Tool room record keeping including but not limited to Excel, JobBoss, and Office Suite.


Work towards continual improvement on an ongoing basis.



  • Willingness to openly share job knowledge and skills through active participation in process improvement teams.
  • Assist Tool room manager with identifying the need and justification of purchasing Tool room equipment.

Job Requirements
Education
-Technical degree in Mold/Die trades or equivalent required

Experience



  • 10 years total combined experience in the building, repair or maintenance of injection molds required.
  • Experience to understand/operate all foundational tool room equipment and "specific" machine tools to achieve departmental goals.
  • Experience/training on current Microsoft computer software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both written and orally with coworkers, vendors, and customer.
  • Ability to work effectively with others on team-oriented goals that are driven in a time sensitive manner.


Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Technical skill in the manufacture of injection mold tooling.
  • Technical understanding of mold design concepts.
  • Technical understanding of material chemistry.
  • Technical understanding of injection mold processing.
