Job Overview

The Manager Pharmacy Supply Chain oversees the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of pharmaceuticals throughout the system of care. Ensures cost-effective, compliant, and uninterrupted medication availability to support high-quality patient care.

Additional Information

Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits
Shift: Monday - Friday, daytime hours (variable). This role will also require on-call, along with evening, night and weekend coverage as needed.

This position will be based out of Anschutz but will support all of our System of Care locations, which will require travel as needed.

Eligible Incentives: Relocation assistance available for qualified external applicants.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees the full cycle of pharmacy procurement and supply chain operations, including medication procurement, inventory control, and invoice approval.
  • Provides effective informal and formal people leadership, including assigning and reviewing work, delivering on-the-job and formal training, coaching for performance, conducting evaluations and managing corrective action process. Leads staffing decisions, supports professional growth and proactively identifies and addresses resource needs.

  • Develops annual work plans used to achieve goals and performance metrics.

  • Actively participates in departmental and divisional leadership activities, contributing to strategic planning, operational improvements and the achievement of enterprise objectives.

  • Supports budget development and ongoing financial monitoring, providing data-driven insights to optimize spending, forecast needs, and ensure adherence to financial targets.

  • Monitors, analyzes and optimizes inventory levels across all locations to minimize waste, prevent shortages, and ensuring adequate supply to support uninterrupted patient care.

  • Leads systemwide product conversions, formulary updates, drug shortage mitigations, and recall management in collaboration with operational and clinical pharmacy leadership, ensuring safe and timely implementation.

  • Oversees the deployment and effective use of pharmacy inventory management technologies and automation systems, ensuring data accuracy, workflow efficiency and continuous improvement.

  • Conducts comprehensive analysis and action planning utilizing pharmacy supply chain data, ensuring contract compliance, identifying operational opportunities, forecasting future needs and implementing initiatives that enhance efficiency, strengthen sustainability and reduce costs.

  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with manufacturers, vendors, wholesalers, and Group Purchasing Organizations, managing vendor requests, conducting regular business reviews, and ensuring reliable supply, contract alignment, and strong operational support for CHCO.

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including DSCSA and the 340B Drug Pricing Program. Maintains accurate and complete records for audits, billing, and casual sales ensuring data integrity and readiness for internal and external reviews.

  • Co-Chairs CHCO Drug Shortage Committee, providing leadership in prioritization, communication and facilitation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Experience: Four (4) years of pharmacist experience, including two (2) years pharmacy practice in a hospital setting
    • Ideal candidate has at least five (5) years of hospital experience and at least two (2) years' experience in a leadership position.
  • Equivalency:

    • Completion of a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) pharmacy residency is considered equivalent to two (2) years of professional pharmacy experience in a hospital setting.

    • Completion of a Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) pharmacy residency is also considered equivalent to two (2) years of professional pharmacy experience, for a total of up to four (4) years when combined with PGY1.

    • Completion of a combined Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency is considered equivalent to four (4) years of professional pharmacy experience.

  • Licensure: Licensed pharmacist in the state of Colorado

Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $150,808.54 to $226,212.81
