Engineer II - Electrical 2nd Shift
Overview Groton COLUMBIA Construction Support Engineering is seeking highly motivated electrical engineers. This is a unique opportunity to support final assembly, test, certification, and delivery of the first of class SSBN 826 COLUMBIA, the Nation's #1 defense priority, on the front lines of engineering. This once in a career opportunity will be challenging and rewarding as the COLUMBIA Waterfront team supports the Groton Shipyard to get boats down river. In this role, engineers will provide comprehensive technical oversight of construction activities and will interface with Design and Engineering, Ship's Management, Planning, Operations, Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP), and PMS397 to act as the primary engineering interface for the Groton shipyard as the COLUMBIA Waterfront engineering organization grows. Responsibilities will include the following:
Provide engineering oversight and assist electrical trade personnel to overcome emergent shipyard issues that arise during construction
This position is for full time work at the Groton shipyard facility on 2nd shift and includes shift differential pay. Qualifications Required Qualifications
