What this job involves:

This role positions you as the strategic technical leader bridging critical electrical power systems and mission-critical HVAC infrastructure to deliver comprehensive, integrated solutions for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center clients. You'll partner with customers, consulting engineers, and internal stakeholders to design, optimize, and implement cutting-edge electrical and mechanical infrastructure solutions. The position blends deep technical expertise across electrical power delivery and thermal management systems with strategic business development, serving as a trusted advisor who connects engineering insight with real-world applications and emerging market needs. With 40-60% travel and flexible location options in key data center markets, you'll drive early specification influence, build Basis of Design alignment, and lead complex, multi-system solutions that shape the future of next-generation data center infrastructure.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:
  • Serve as the technical authority for integrated data center infrastructure spanning electrical power delivery systems (transformers, switchgear, UPS, PDUs) and mission-critical HVAC systems (chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, liquid cooling)
  • Build early specification awareness and drive Basis of Design alignment with hyperscale operators, colocation providers, consulting engineers, architects, and EPC firms
  • Develop system-level integrated electrical and mechanical solutions that meet stringent data center requirements for performance, redundancy, efficiency, reliability, and scalability
  • Create concept design packages supporting preconstruction efforts for integrated electrical and HVAC infrastructure, enabling early project visualization and decision-making
  • Partner with sales, engineering, and commercial teams to convert specifications into active pipeline and bookings while supporting pursuit strategies for complex, multi-system projects
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical product, engineering, and business teams to shape application strategies and drive innovation across multiple solution portfolios
  • Provide consultative guidance and technical training to operations, engineering, and sales partners on integrated electrical and mechanical solutions
  • Coordinate testing, manufacturing, and installation activities as technical liaison across internal and external stakeholders for both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Lead advanced engineering assignments using innovative methodologies and emerging technologies in both power and thermal management
Desired experience and technical skills: Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in applications engineering, solutions engineering, or technical sales support within data center or mission-critical infrastructure environments
  • Minimum 5 years focused specifically on data center environments, demonstrating progression into strategic technical leadership roles
  • Demonstrated deep technical expertise spanning both electrical power systems (power distribution, transformers, UPS, backup power) and mission-critical HVAC/cooling solutions (chillers, CRAC/CRAH, liquid cooling, thermal management)
  • Proven ability to serve as trusted technical advisor to owners, consulting engineers, architects, and EPC firms on integrated electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Strong track record building and maintaining executive customer relationships, driving early specification influence and BOD alignment prior to bid stages
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills with experience coordinating across sales, engineering, product management, and multiple business units spanning both electrical and mechanical disciplines
  • Solid commercial acumen with clear understanding of how technical design influence translates into project pipeline and revenue generation
  • In-depth knowledge of data center market dynamics including customer requirements, decision drivers, buying behaviors, and competitive landscape for both electrical and HVAC infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of design, manufacturing, testing, and installation processes for electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
Preferred:
  • Deep understanding of data center design drivers including redundancy levels (Tier classifications, N, N+1, 2N configurations), uptime requirements, energy efficiency (PUE/WUE optimization), and scalability
  • Expertise in emerging technologies including liquid cooling, immersion cooling, rear-door heat exchangers, and high-density power distribution for AI/ML workloads
  • Existing relationships with hyperscale operators, colocation developers, leading consulting engineering firms (mechanical and electrical), and major EPC contractors
  • Experience managing complex technical projects involving multiple stakeholders and integrated electrical and mechanical system solutions
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple product portfolios and brands to deliver comprehensive infrastructure solutions spanning power and cooling
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities with both technical specialists and C-level executives
  • Proficiency in developing concept designs and preconstruction documentation to support early-stage project development for integrated electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Professional certifications (PE in Electrical or Mechanical, CEM, LEED AP, or equivalent)
  • Cross-disciplinary knowledge in both electrical and mechanical engineering
  • Residency in strategic hub locations (NY, VA, TX)
