JOB SUMMARY

Schedule, coordinate and supervise craft employee activities. Work with customers to coordinate jobs, including scheduling, site preparation and locate calls. Oversite of the customer satisfaction process from planning and construction, through billing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum of four years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures required.
  • Equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience that would typically provide adequate experience in all phases of work from entry level telecommunication field work into supervision of crews (4 years).


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Extensive experience working in the specific craft being supervised is essential.


KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


  • Advanced understanding of safety standards in the utility line construction industry is required.
  • An understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise several work crews is vital for success in this role.
  • An ability to read, understand and update construction plans is essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of products, or a willingness to learn.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Plan and supervise craft activities including method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.
  • Supports a job safety culture, including leading weekly safety meetings and creating job tailboard topics. Oversees the jobsite safe work practices by performing onsite job safety reviews.
  • Responsible for job oversite from plan review through billing. Includes documentation of work completion to plans for submittal to customer.
  • Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors.
  • Maintain liaison with engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
  • Maintains Customer relationships. Includes working to obtain additional work as well as build new customer relationships.
  • Monitor craft compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  • Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e., Fleet, Project Management) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.




  • Wage is per the Montana Communications contract. IBEW Local 532.
  • Benefits are tied to union membership.
  • Employer paid Medical/Dental/Vision.
  • Retirement plan contribution of 6% of earnings. Retirement plan contribution is not a match contribution occurs in the absence of employee contribution to retirement plan.
