Blue Rhino is seeking a Full-Time Production Lead to join our hardworking and safety-focused team. The Production Lead will be responsible in assisting the Production Supervisor to manage production operations in a team-based environment on assigned shift to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency, in the refilling, re-valving, re-qualifying, refurbishing, packaging, and storage of propane cylinders to meet the needs of the distributor network. Responsibilities
- Assists production supervisor to cultivate a positive departmental morale including an uncompromising culture of meeting safety, quality and production plan
- Performs typical supervisory duties including fairly enforcing company policies on absenteeism, tardiness, and shift start-up; utilizing established disciplinary procedures to handle problems fairly and transparently; documenting, conducting, and submitting annual performance reviews; maintaining employee attendance and safety records
- Conducts or assists with training for new employees, monthly safety topics, job specific training, annual refresher training, or any other required training; and maintains proper documentation
- Executes production process procedures for the consistent operation and output of each production-related work center
- Handles day-to-day staffing needs on assigned shifts to efficiently meet production targets
- Gathers data and daily reports as needed
- Provides feedback to maintenance on equipment and operating issues
- Leads by example, provides hands on training of workers at the stations
- Communicates clearly with all staff
- Ensures equipment is used properly
- Ensures all aspects of the facility, procedures, and processes comply with the OSHA 119.1910 Process Safety Management regulation
- Maintains supplies and uniforms issued by the company
- Adheres to all safety rules and policies
- Ensures workplace remains clean, neat, and organized at all times
- Maintains accurate time card and paperwork as required
- Possesses integrity and a positive work ethic
- Checks for quality assurance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other safety, environmental, and governmental standards
- Must have served in the production specialist role for Blue Rhino for a minimum of one year
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Must have knowledge of cylinder refurb operations and processes at all work stations
- Must be punctual and arrive at assigned time
